Wyatt's 3 Months

Our little stinker is 3 months today!  Wyatt is starting to grab onto toys, and laugh more frequently.  He loves to watch his kooky sister's antics, and shows a lot of interest in watching Lucy, too.  He continues to have male pattern baldness, poor guy (see photo below).  It's looking like his hair is coming in blond like Leah's.  The really good news is that he is now old/strong enough to sit in the stroller seat without his car seat.  This makes going for walks MUCH more pleasurable for all, as he tends to scream with mighty lungs whenever he has to go in his car seat.     We are all looking forward to seeing family & friends soon for his baptism!

Our Saturday Literary Adventure!

So while South Bend has grown on me quite a bit, I'll be honest - it's not exactly my dream city!  I did not dream of moving to a little town in Indiana when I grew up.  However, I'll say this for South Bend: we have a seriously awesome library.  Actually, it's a whole chain of libraries.  This weekend was the annual Open Book Festival.  We got to meet and get autographs from many of Leah's favorite literary characters, including: Llama Llama, Curious George, Clifford, Wild Thing, and Otto.  We also watched a puppet show (Rumplestiltskin), and saw a juggling story teller.  Fun times!  I was especially excited that Leah became brave when we met Wild Thing (my favorite) - she originally told us, "I am NOT taking a picture with THAT guy!"       Yes, I did wear my MSU hat around SB today! Go Green!

The Muppet Clubhouse

The bad news is our dishwasher died.  The GOOD news is that we acquired a new dishwasher - and perhaps even better, a big old box.  Leah and I made a list of all the things we could make our box into: a grocery store, a house, a rocket ship, a cave... But we settled on a puppet show playhouse, or as Leah calls it: The Muppet Clubhouse.  This box filled our entire day.  We cut a door a window, painted the puppet show stage, made paper bag puppets, and then I was treated to many, many puppet shows while Wyatt sat on my lap and drooled.  Then Ryan was also the privlidged audience of many, many puppet shows when he got home.

Preschool Begins!

Our big girl started preschool this week!  She loved it, and is hoping I go back to work sooner than later so that she can go every day.  Clearly, her independent streak remains...  We are so proud of her, and it was such a joy to hear her talk about her new friends, and making toast in the kitchen for her teacher, and oh yes...meeting a "boyfriend."  Yeesh.     Wyatt and I missed Leah quite a bit, but we managed to get along.   There was tummy time (pictured below!), a trip to the doctor for vaccines (after which he was not a smiley as he is below), a nice nap, and then we took the dog for an extra long walk.  Before we knew it, it was time to go pick up big sis!
